Lacona
Island of Elba
Lacona is located on the southern side of the Island of Elba, easily accessible from Portoferraio, the main ferry port from Piombino. The area, featuring a flat terrain surrounded by hills (150-377 m), overlooks one of the island’s largest gulfs, offering a varied and enchanting landscape.
Thanks to its strategic position in the center of Elba, Lacona is the ideal starting point for exploring every corner of the island. Within less than a kilometer, you can find all essential services: small markets, a pharmacy, bazaars, bars, restaurants, pizzerias, and car and scooter rental outlets.
This combination of convenience and natural beauty makes Lacona the perfect destination to fully enjoy the Elba experience.
Lacona Beach
Lacona Beach stretches for over one kilometer, offering an expanse of fine sand that gently slopes into the waters of the gulf.
Behind the beach lies a rare dune habitat, unique on the Island of Elba, where the sea daffodil still blooms, showcasing its beautiful, intensely fragrant white flowers. A little further on, small groves of maritime and domestic pines complete the evocative natural landscape.
Lacona Beach offers extensive free areas, perfect for those who prefer to enjoy the sea independently. There are also equipped sections with concessions providing services such as sun umbrella and deck chair rentals, windsurfing equipment, sailing and motorboats, and other gear for fully experiencing water sports. On the far left side of the beach, a monitored mooring for boats ensures maximum peace of mind for those arriving by sea, without disturbing other beachgoers.
Laconella Beach
Charming, secluded, and peaceful, this small sandy beach stretches for about 250 meters and is entirely free from any human intervention. It’s the perfect spot for those seeking an unspoiled haven to unwind in, fully immersed in the most authentic natural setting.
To the left lies the small headland of Punta Contessa, featuring evocative inlets, hidden coves, and other little beaches. To the right, the majestic headland of Capo Fonza dominates the view, blanketed by lush vegetation that displays an ever-changing palette of greens and, depending on the season, vibrant yellows (broom) or reds (strawberry trees). A truly unique landscape, bound to captivate with its serenity and natural beauty.
Margidore beach
Margidore Beach lies at the foot of the Capo di Stella promontory. It’s made up of smooth gray pebbles and is almost entirely free, except for a small central section equipped with facilities. Its tranquil, relaxing atmosphere is perfect for those who want to enjoy the sea without the bustle of peak summer crowds.
